About Us
The Alliance Library System (ALS) is proud to partner with the FINRA Investor
Education Foundation and the American Library Association to bring you
Smart investing@your library®. This grant, “Financial ABC’s for
Generations X, Y, and Z” was
funded so that ALS could deliver saving and investing information to individuals
from each generation.
Building upon our previous Smart investing@your library® project which
targeted baby boomers, ALS has partnered with five public libraries to
deliver on-site and online financial education programs for young adults
ages 13 to 20. ALS will also use the virtual world of Second Life to bring
programs and materials on the importance of investing and saving to individuals
ages 20 to 35. Once again this year, the Smart investing@your library® van
will drive to libraries throughout the ALS service area to share financial
information with the public. The information found on this website will
bring all aspects of the program together so that it will be accessible
to all.
The Alliance Library System is one of the top multitype library systems
in the country. ALS provides services to over 250 libraries of different
types in a 14,000 square mile area in central Illinois. The core services
of ALS are consulting, continuing education, delivery of materials, and
resource sharing. For more information on the Alliance Library System,
