Investing InfoIsland Book Discussion of The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb - In his review of this book, Chris Anderson, the author of The Long Tail, notes, “Nassim argues that most of the really big events in our world are rare and unpredictable, and thus trying to extract generalizable stories to explain them may be emotionally satisfying, but it's practically useless. September 11th is one such example, and stock market crashes are another. Or, as he puts it, "History does not crawl, it jumps." We’ll meet at the Lodge in the center of Investing InfoIsland.

Investing InfoIsland Book Discussion: The Trillion Dollar Meltdown by Charles Morris & Nick Summers - Morris and Summers predict that the sub-prime mortgage crisis is just the beginning of larger political and economic changes. USA Today (March 31st) notes, "Morris serves up a sharp, thought-provoking historical wrap-up of the U.S. economy and its markets, along with clear scrutiny of today's economic woes."
