The Van Returns
Last year the
Smart investing@your library® van visited
libraries across central Illinois. Now, through an exciting partnership
amongst the Alliance Library System, the FINRA Investor Education Foundation
and the American Library Association, the
Smart investing@your library® van
is back for 2010.
Beginning in April and continuing through October, libraries in the ALS
service area will be invited to host the van at a library event, community
event, open house, carnival or parade. Our goal is to promote your library
as a quality source of unbiased financial information. The van will include
a display of materials on saving and investing, in a variety of formats,
both electronic and print. The van will be set up and staffed by our outreach
personnel, which means a minimal commitment from library staff. This is
a great opportunity for your library to highlight its financial resources,
while utilizing the additional resources included with the van.
Last year the
Smart investing@your library® van made
35 visits and reached 1,500 people. Don’t miss out on this exciting
opportunity. Make sure the van is on your calendar this year!
